Can anyone make any good reason to choose one of these products over the other.

I have downloaded both demo's and tinkered with them for hours. I've searched around here and can't really find a compelling reason to go one way or the other.

I'm not able to make a complete decision on Insignia because some features are disabled. Particularly working with STL files. I'm also not a big fan of USB Dongles so that is a big disappointment for me.

Vectric appears to get a plus for the company appearing to be more customer friendly. The Aspire software is not locked with a dongle, the interface is less crowded and is easier to use. Insignia appears to be more versatile with toolpaths and manipulation of bitmaps, clipart, etc. It also seems like Aspire is moving forward to add features that Insignia currently offers.

Can anyone who has actually used both expand on my thoughts?

You can compare Artcam Insignia with Vcarve Pro and Aspire with Artcam. Vectric Aspire is far better than the Artcam insignia as compare to the 3D modelling as well as 2D drafting and toolpath generation. Vectric Aspire has all features of VcarvePro and additionally you can have much more in it.
Artcam Insignia is also a good software but IMHO it lake 3D modelling capabilities as compared to Vectric Aspire.
