    Your Opinion Please - 50w, 60w or 80w

I'm going to be building my own laser machine in the next several month.

Right now -- the intention is to cut 6mm birch plywood.

The size of the machine will be directly determined by the size of the laser tube.

Putting aside the addition cost of the tube and PS between 50 and 80 would you go for 80 over 60 in case the needs arises in the future?

Will an 80w tube run at lower power levels last longer than a 50w tube run at full power?

    Thanks for any comments.

    Hi Joe
I think yes, a 80w tube runs at lower power levels last longer than a 50w tube runs at full power,
since according to our customers' experience:
the normal life tube of a co2 laser glass tube(Chinese brand) is about 1500-3000 hours
according to how you use it.if you use a laser tube 8hours/day,below is the approximate life time.
20-30% power, life time should be about 1-2 years.
40-50% power, life time should be about 1 year
70-80% power, life time should be about 6-7 months.
