    Shielded wire recommendations

    Here is my setup:

    Hitachi WJ200-022SF VFD
    Automationdirect LR-23P0 Drive reactor
    Teknomotor 4147C 2kw Spindle

The spindle will be controlled via Mach 3 and a Leadshine MX3660.

I've read quite a few posts regarding VFD cables, and the consensus is that they need to be shielded. Here is my dilemma: There are quite a few options out there, and how is one to know what is actually a good deal? I'm not frivolous, so I only want to spend what I actually need to. I'm also not cheap, so I want to get what is right, and am willing to pay for it, but I don't want to spend extra because this is such and such brand. Is it ok to use a simple shielded WJOO 14/4? Or do I need to go with a cable that is known as a VFD shielded cable? Also, any sources would be greatly appreciated.

There is one designed specifically for VFD's by Belden. VFD Cable
    But not cheap.
Personally I have never used shielded cable on the VFD 3ph conductors, even with once having 3 VFD's in the one enclosure.
I have tended to install 3ph chokes however, they make it easier on the drive and the motor, especially when non-vector rated motors are used.

    Check!

I've put in a request for an estimate on the Belden, I'm sure it is expensive though. I received a quote yesterday on a Trex-Onics Cable. It was $4.82 per foot. More than I'm willing to pay unless there is some serious gains in performance, or reliability. So far, the IGUS is the front runner. Does anyone use quick connects on this stuff?

That's what I said IGUS is the Best

You need to hard wire, you can have a disconnect on the AC input line, you should not have any type of connection between the motor & VFD,unless it is with a line reactor

I guess that makes sense, since you would be breaking the shielding to have the connectors, defeating the purpose of having the shielding to begin with..

Ordered 25' of the IGUS CF-31 today. Definitely seems to be the best bang for the buck. Thanks for all the info, and help guys.
