I'm looking for a suitable foam to machine carburetor floats from . I;m trying to make replacements for cork floats from antique engines . Cork has a density of 16 lbs/cu ft. The foam could be lighter , but probably not heavier . the main thing is machinability with a CNC router and a closed cell property not affected by gasoline . I've talked to a rep at rogers who make nytrophyl foam for gas floats , they want $40 for a 6" X 6" piece 1" thick , and I got the impresion that unless I was looking to order 15,000 floats that the'd really rather not be bothered . I'm sure that there is another alternative out there . Any suggestions ? Thanks Mike
