When programing a profile tool path what if the difference in the three settings
Outside
Inside
On

When cutting using the outside setting will work piece be larger when completed?
When cutting using the inside setting will work piece be smaller when completed?
When cutting using the on setting will the cutter cut right to the line and be more accurate?

Outside will create a path offset by the radius of the cutter selected towards the outside. Outside of part will match the lines you selected.
Inside will do the same thing but offset inside the radius of your cutter creating a hole the size of your selected lines.
On will created a cut path right on the line. So depending on what effect you are looking for depends on the outcome. Example if you want to create a v groove around a line this will center the bit on the selected line.

Try them all out and simulate it in the 3d view.
