Question Machining along a slanted surface

    Hi,

I have a sample with slanted surface. I want to machine along the slanted surface to the depth of say 20um. How can I do this?
In the photo, I have shown the machining path in blue.

In order to do this, I assume, I should measure the position of the Z (surface position) at the two ends and then interpolate them.
I know that I can get the machine Z position using the code (#z1 = #5023), however, not sure how to interpolate to achieve the final depth.

    Any suggestion is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

I have some experience doing this.

How wide and tall is the part you are machining?
    What software are you using?
Endmill size and type (square end, ball nose, etc)?
Have you tried doing a 3d tool path?
