[Raf-1200]

I am doing a fairly simple part that requires milling around the edge and then some holes inside.

The end mill I'm using is 6mm and the holes I want are 6mm. I've already guessed that Solidcam won't allow me to do that. Keep in mind this is only the second piece I've ever cnc'ed.

So I've added a second operation and thought that doing a tool change is the way forward. I've changed the tool to 4mm diameter and now it mills the already milled edges before doing the holes. How do I get it to just do the holes?

I thought adding a second operation using the 6mm end mill but instead of doing a '3d mill' operation doing a '3d drill' operation instead might work but it keeps coming up with 'geometry not selected'.

Any help would be appreciated.

Problem sorted. Operation sequence changed around and the first operation is using the 6mm end mill as a drill. It's going in at 33 mm per minute. Is that too fast for a 6mm end mill at 1000rpm into 6061 aluminium? It's only a hss bit.
