    Same Question for fixture cleaning?

Very basic shop operation questions, that I bet have been answered many times here.
Mostly want the newest and best advice from current cnc forum readers and users.

I will clean tool holders with either Windex or Coleman camp fuel (naphtha or white gas).

I clean the machine with Windex, and that has worked great for almost 4 years.

About twice a year, I'll pump all the coolant out, wash the tank with Simple Green and refill it.
You can buy GOOD PARTS or you can buy CHEAP PARTS, but you can't buy GOOD CHEAP PARTS.

Re: Best Practice (start and finish)

I had been cleaning the r-8 tool holder collet and Tormach tool holder shafts with denatured alcohol. I have plenty of coleman fuel around here so I will add that to my list to use. All the painted surfaces I use some cleaner I get from home depot like purple stuff or similar general purpose concentrate. I mix the stuff up and use it all around the shop including work bench counters, tool boxes, tools and machines.
    Thanks for the advice!
