Have you tried holding with double-sided stick tape? That can help spread the stress out when doing thin parts like this instead of bolts.

If you have any specific brand of double sided tape that works well, I am all ears!
I bought some at the hardware and it works fine as long as its kept at room temperature or below, as a bit of heat is generated it comes loose. (carpet tape for indoor use)
