    encoder question

I have recently picked up some old electrocraft servos. They have renco encoders. I found an old post that shows what wire colors are used for a a- b b- power and ground. I think that will most likely work. The issue is I now have single to differential converters from cncpc that are connected up on the machine to each axis. Can I just use the a, b, power and ground to go through the boards like before or do I need to cut the ends off the cat 5s and wire all the wires directly(a a- b b- power and ground ) and remove the very handy wiring of the cnc4pc boards.

    Thanks
    Ben

If you have Renco differential encoders, why not go direct instead of going single and then back through the differential conversion again?

The converters are mounted right beside the motors. I have not tested these encoders so if I cut the ends off the cat 5 and they are bad I will need new encoders and new cables. Also with the boards where there at I would just connect four wires to screw terminals instead off cutting the cable and splicing 6 wires together. If you don't think it will work I will just cut the wires and take the chance they are no good.

    Thanks
    Ben
