Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.

    Hi, I'm Kirk.
I run Pro/E/ Creo with Pro manufacture running 2 Techno routers and one large custom built CNC.
For work I cut samples of my packaging and component parts from Expanded foam, both Expanded Polypropylene (commonly seen in automotive applications) and Expanded polystyrene(commonly seen in packaging)
I'm currently using the machine to start to learn CNC for Aluminum milling which is much less forgiving than foam.

    Hey everyone,

Hope you are having a great day. I am an all around computer nerd and hobby inventor. I run my own computer tech support company, and I am
currently working on a design for a thread-less ball-screw based CNC. Going to run it from a Udoo Quad, and hopefully it will turn out well.

    Thanks

Hey, I hope all is good and well. I'm an entry level maintenance fitter and seem to always have little jobs on the go in the garage.

    Hello,
28 year old from the southern coast of England, just bought my first machine; a Miyano MTV-350. Been in engineering since doing an apprenticeship in injection mould tool making and now work as a designer in motorsports. Bought the Miyano to do some bits on the side, maybe start a small company etc. Got a couple of questions to post about the machine which I'll do this evening. The first thing I have learned is never buy a 2.2 ton box without having somewhere lined up to put it.

    Hello,
I am a semi-retired General Counsel for a biotech company and started machinery as a new hobby in the last three years. Currently I am building a microprocessor controlled dividing head for fun and that project has led me to this site. I look forward to learning more about CNC related aspects with the goal of someday converting my small Grizzly mill as well - but for now, one axis at a time while I learn Arduino coding.

Hi, guys! I run a small manufacturing company in Garner, NC (near Raleigh.) We're using a Tormach PCNC 770 to machine cast aluminum electronic enclosures. Looking forward to learning the difference between my butt and a hole in the ground.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.

Hello guys, I studied electronic long time ago but I allways worked with mechanic equipaments and electrical maintence. So, last year I decided to construct my own cnc plasma cutting using mach3. I bought 4 servo-motor from Hiwin to star. Only this year I bought the HY-Jk02-M 5 axis interface board but I couldn´t work with it up to now. I started to look for something about this and google led me to this forum. I personally felt happy when I realized the possibility to learn more and more about cnc comands and follow a forum just like this. I hope can help others in the near feature with my experiences.

    Hi All

I am a retired C.N.C. programmer in Western Australia. My experience is mostly on vertical mills with Fanuc control. Our company machined hydraulic valve manifolds with special tooling and manual programming.

I used to know G-code backwards, but I am a bit rusty now. It will come back with a bit of practice.
I know enough about electronics to get into trouble, but not enough to get out.

I purchased a X6-1500GT-USB carving machine from China a couple of months ago and I am working away on a few issues. I will post more information on another thread shortly.
