    knurling?

    I have a part that my boss wants me to knurl. There are 5 each of 10 for now and thousands later. Specifications are as follows.
    2.5 diameter with a hub turned down to 1" about .75 long. On the 2.5 diameter there is a radius of .438. I am needing to knurl only the radius on this part. I have an example part and it looks like it was plunged into the radius at different angles about 5 to 6 times at different angles then cutting the radius again to smooth things out. I would like to see if anyone has any other ideas. I am posting a pic.
