If I program a part for aluminum and later want to do the same part in tool steel I want to change to a different Machining Configuration. I am not able to change the Machining Configuration to anything else in an existing file.

I see it can be done with Delcam For SolidWorks but I do not see how it can be done for Featurecam.

i would just open the file
    part view
stock and just change materials from alu to tool steel
speeds and feeds are set up in the material library
depths of cut, leads, finish allowances are in machining attributes
you might have to set up a different machining config for harder materials and also swap that out with the material data

Changing your Material and/or Machining Attributes will change your default settings. If you made any changes while writing the program, those will not change. Youll have to manually change them again. Anything with an * next to it in your properties, or speeds and feeds that have the override checked, have been changed manually.
