Hello

Is the 3tF control capable of receiving a file with comments? I have them in my program but have never been able to have them come
over when sending the file to the machine by RS232.

Any input would be great

comments are always put between brackets. e.g.

(THIS IS A COMMENT)

depending on what model you have exactly, the 3T doesn't have a screen and instead has a single row of 7-segment LEDS so you can't view comments in the machine, nor can you write them in a program generated at the control.

Hello thanks for the reply. But I have the Fanuc 3TF with color crt do you know if it is possible? I have them in my posted file but when I download all that is in its place is a comma.

Also are you familiar with the transmission noise that occurs when in g96 when making quick rpm changes up and down , sounds like a clacking/slapping sound. I have pulled the transmission before but nothing stands out that may be wrong. I have had the lathe four three years now and it has always been there.

just a comma? do you still see the comment brackets? i.e. (,) or just a , and no brackets?

I have to agree it's probably something with the comm program. try using a different transfer program.
