Machine:
Fadal VMC 4020
Fanuc 18i-MB Controller

The machine had just under 5,700 hours on it recently (we record the time every month). This morning noticed it shows only 65H55M total run time. Yes, I could just add the time to my last recorded time but still leaves me wondering what caused it and leaves the possibility of it happening again.

Anyone know what setting or circumstances might have caused it to reset? Is a total run time kept elsewhere other than the main screen? We put in new batteries a few months ago and have not gotten any errors recently.

Hi,

Check parameters 6750 - 6754, look at your parameter manual.
It stores the POWER-ON time; par. 6750
Operation time; par. 6751 & 6752
Cutting time; par. 6753 & 6754

Thanks very much! This at least showed me where time is stored. I know nobody has been into these parameters so it leaves me curious why they would change unexpectedly. I was under the impression that machine hours where like an odometer on a vehicle that should not change. I noticed, after writing down a couple of the values, that you can manually put in any number you want and it will change. I did not try this on the total machine on time though.

I will leave this subject open for another day or two just to hear some feedback. Thanks again.
