I was given a Fadal 2016L SN 9801161 Model 904-1L 10,000 rpm. The only investment I have in it is storage and moving. I've had it in storage for 4 years. I saw it run before we shipped it. The only problem, I recall when it ran was the rpm cut out when it hit about 7,000 then went down to about 3,000.

I recently powered it up and the monitor is all fuzzy. I call the service company. They came out and gave me a free evaluation. Said I need a monitor, new cpu cards, inverter and maybe need a spindle, $5,000-10,000.

I asked if it was worth fix it up. He said depends on how you’re going to use it. I said I'm going to build injection mold, 3d cut P-20 cavity blocks, cut electrodes, pocket in mold base plates, etc. He said this machine was not design for that heavy of use, and I would be disappointed. Said it's not that accurate because of the linear ways, he referred to it the "L" as light duty.

My question is, is this true will I be disappointed, if rebuilt? Is he correct?
FYI, he also offered to buy it from me or new of some that would.
Note: The previous own did push the machine so it might have some other issues.
Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
