Programming top and bottom of part using UCS

Hopefully Al Depaolo will see this. I was trying to create a mill program for a plate that has machining on both sides (top and bottom) Pockets and Profiles. When I set up a 2nd UCS how do I reset the Origin in the stock setup without it changing the 1st setup. I was hoping that Al could do a video and post it to youtube. I have tried to figure it out but I am stumped.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I think thats a second machine setup, which can have it's own origin.

I would make 1 file and label it Plate. Then I would put in that file 2 different programs.Labled OP 1 Top and OP 2 Bottom. Then I would open both up and tile vertically or horizontally and you can work on both and see both at the same time. This is unless you are going to run both top and bottom at the same time and need code all in one program. Then I concur too with Burr.

Multiple part files used to be the SOP for me....but with the new multiple machine setup feature, everything's in one file now.
Just be sure to keep an eye on the Machining Order selection and how it affects your posted code.

Gotten up to 5 setups so far, here's one at 3.

    Tom,

you'll want to create a new machine setup for the part flip. I did see the thread and I want to create a video on it. Can we talk next week and walk through the part together. It's a really simple process so it will not take long to do together. please call me when you are free.....

Thanks for the reply's. I understand about adding a new machine setup, my questions is about selecting the new zero for the added machine setup. Do I just go back into the stock wizard? That seems to effect the original machine set up. I think I must be missing something.

Al what number do I call you at?

    Thanks,
    Tom

All you need to do is insert a new setup and edit it. That is where you can set the origin for the setup. No you do not need to run the stock wizard again.

Does anyone else use the Machine Setup 1 "machined" part in simulation as "stock" for the next Machine Setup (2)? I have some workflow questions related to this thread.
