    3D Surface Machining

    Hello All,

I need to machine a part with a slot whose wall is sloped at angle.
For this slot(through hole), I tried a few Surface Finish Finish methods(Surface Finish Contour, Surface Finish Parallel Steep) on the MasterCam X5.
It seems to me that each is good in an area but not finishing up the whole slopes.
I attached a file so you could take a look at it if you would. The tool should not touch outside the slot window since there's
    material around the window.

Which method would be best in this case?

    Thanks so much in advance,

    Ken

something like that i would use surface finish - constant scallop. only have containment on outer chain.
i am running x7 so cannot save something for you to use, but the toolpath setting are quite simple.

Tried that and looks like it works much better. Thanks a lot!
