    programming an arc for milling

    Hi guys!
Our CNC-guy is on vacation and i'm in serious need for help here.

We have a dahlih mcv 1500 machine with a fanuc control
I need help to program an arc. I guess there is some g-code for doing this?

The part looks like a section of a ring (like a banana). Can anyone help me?

    Thank you

I may be able to help if the part looks more like a piece of pineapple ring. Just post the sizes and angles involved, the orientation of the part, and the xy coordinates can be calculated.
It will be G2 for a clockwise movement, G3 for anticlockwise.

Anticlockwise? Makes clockwise seem like a bad thing!

Chris is right, to add to that, the line you are looking for would be something like G02 X-2.5 Y2.5 R2.5 F40.0 (assuming that this block is up when you are at X0. Y0. and you are going in a 90 degree arc).

You can do this with I, J and K as well, but I'm not well versed enough to help anyone with that (has to do with center point and start/stop angles or something like that)
