HELP please - machine tapping stainless

Trying to machine tap a 2-56 thread into 1/4" thick 304 stainless. This is a thru hole. Advice on what kind of tap and what rpm??

can't give you an rpm, but gun taps are real nice for through holes, they push the chips right out of the back side of the hole and come out clean. Stiffer and stronger than spiral taps too.
