New life for well used PCNC 1100

    Hey Guys,

I wanted to share a few before and after pictures of my 1100. I bought it a few months ago and I have been sanding, blasting, and painting every since. I am particularly pleased with the home grown ergotron computer arms I salvaged out of the trash at work. I have also added an LED light ring using a hose clamp. It works great.

I wanted to express my appreciation to Greg and the team at Tormach. I have been on the phone ordering everything from oil pumps to logo stickers and they have come thru with flying colors. They have provided the best customer experience - well beyond my expectations. I have been working with Bob over in Austin and he has diagnosed every issue I have encountered with the ATC. He can identify my problem in about 4 lines of text in an email. I don't know how he does it but it works great!

I am systematically buying end mills and tooling and I cannot decide about face mills vs. fly cutters. I am not in a hurry but I like what I see in the videos.

I welcome everyone's feedback. I may try to load a few pics of my tooling tray as well...

    Take care,
    Leigh

How did you attach your left hand arm and tool tray to the column. I removed mine to add the ATC and REALLY miss it. I had considered seling it but I would rather have it on the machine than have the money.

In regards to the left-hand arm and tool tray, I simply drilled and mounted it to the same square column that the ATC is mounted on. It is custom mount I made to match the tall and slender square column about 3" wide and 7" tall. I will attach a better picture of the left arm for you nitewatchman...

I appreciate the positive feedback guys. My wife is tired of me talking about the mill...I wonder why?

Yes, I made both the arm and the tool tray. It is amazing what you can build when you can't find what you want. Let me know if I can make one or two for you.

How much? I think you could sell quite a few, if you wanted that is.

I would have to give it some thought on the right price. Would you like just the numbered tool tray or the entire arm and work surface as well? The arm requires some parts from McMasterCarr and the worksurface was scavenged from the office trash!
