hi tell me procedure how to design vacuum clamping
design considerations standards available for vaccu clamping device
aslo tell me the working procedure how it works
give me design details how to design vaccu clamping
The secret of succesfull vac clamping is SURFACE AREA! double the surface area = double the clamping force. My biggest enemy with vac clamping on Ali plate is that the plate slips due to the force of the cutter on the work. On a job i did recently on 13 x 9 x 1" plates i was roughing a 1" doc x 1/3" at 30ipm no problems. I had to insert 2 pins to locate the plates and keep them frim slipping. the vac supplied all the down force i needed. I make a lot of parts fom 1/4" ali plate and i just gang them all together on a big sheet. I then cut and drill them 90% depth and use the bandsaw to seperate them. I then run the holes through on the pedestal drill and use a flushtrim bit on the table mounted router to clean off the other 10%.
Works for me and saves a lot of setup time.
I am going to use 3/4" MDF fly cut about 1/16 " of both sides to expose the core over a grooved plenum and use a roots type positive displacement pump (ebay) with a 16 hp elec start gas engine mounted outside my shop in an enclosure....bada bing.
