    Index table control

    Hi this is the project , I want to control a rotary table on a vertical slotter ideally I would like to be able to turn a dial or similar input to the number of divisions I want the 360 degrees split into ,then just be able to just press a button to move to the next division or ideally the slotter press the button on its up stroke , the question is ,being completely new to step motor control , can this be done with out using a computer and if so what is required
