    Fanuc 3M servo alarm overload signal

    Hi guys,

    i'm having problem with our FANUC 3M control on our Kitamura MyCenter1. When i power it up, i get the servo alarm 01 and the manual says it's an overload signal on X or Z axis that is turned on.

    I tryed pressing the reset button on the amplifiers but with no success... is it a blown fuse or sensor...

    Please tell me if you have any ideas. Thank you,

    The other sources that are sometimes monitored by the OL is If there is a thermostat in the power transformer and/or if you have regenerative braking units, there is a thermostat in those that can cause the 01 alarm.

    Fanuc 3M alarm

    Hello Al The Man.
    If some one can help me.
    At this moment I have other old machine Kiwa with 3m Control.
    First. I have to write Parameter manually.
    Then I power up. X axis motor is run away. It make gear broken. ( Both gear on motor and Ballscrew. )
    Where I can get this Gear part.?
    Then I remove motor out from gear box. ( X and Y )
    Then power up again.
    X axis still run at first time and stop.( 2-3 Sec )
    Screen alarm 11 and 12 ( X axis )
    I have exchange motor between X and Y.
    X axis do as the same.
    I also change Servo Amp between. X axis still do the same.
    ( Run 2-3 sec and stop then alarm No 11 or 12 )
    On MB LED 2 Is luminate RED.
    So where I should look to it?
    Machine no manual come with it. Just Parameter sheet come with.
    Any suggestion will be appeciated.

    The information I have on those errors mention mis-setting of para 28 & 29
    2/ either increase the the setting of P41 and 42 or increase the velocity gain RV1 clockwise
    3/ Servo amp (you changed that)
    4/ Low input power
    5/Check the encoder.
    It sounds like it might be parameter settings, try disconnecting the motor armature and see if it errors out when you power up.
    If it errors out before you try a move, it seems like parameter.
    The gear, I have no idea, you may have to have one made.

    The overload alarm persist...

    Hey,

    i am still getting the alarm on the Fanuc 3M-C controller

    Alarm 01 – Servo Overload

    I verified the followings

    temperature sensors in the motors
    thermal relays of the drive
    XYZ Axis power transformer

    and i tryed to :

    Unplug the drive completely
    Put the breaker of the XYZ Axis transformer off

    But i still receive the 01 alarm when i turn the controller ON.

    I found suspicious that one of the phase (V) that goes from the XYZ Axis power transformer to the drives drops from 170V to 20V (vs Ground) when i connect one of the drives but apparently the transformer is OK. This happens when i connect either of all 3 drives.

    It also appears that one of the phase draws less current at the 220V input…

    About the regenerative braking unit… i’m not sure if the machine has any but i found a component that was named BRAKE PACK and tryed to reset the thermal relay near it but with no success.

    I’m pretty close of having to call a technician a spend big bucks on this… Please tell me if you have any suggestions.

    You may get mis-leading reading to ground if your transformer is not referenced to ground, especially with a Digital high impedance meter.
    Does any of the on-board drive contactors pick up? If the machine has any kind of brake unit with a reset, I would test the continuity of the reset to see if it is set, (low resitance).
    The only fault I show for 01 is overload, you may want to check the continuity of the drive overload reset, test with the power off.

    or 41, 42 seem Correct.
    RV1 clockwise, No Effect, still error 11 and 12
    3/ Servo amp (you changed that)
    I also swap motor too. " X" axis still the same.
    So Motor and encoder is not problem.
    4/ Low input power. Where to check this.?

    I try disconnecting the motor armature
    It error when power up. Error No. 02
    What parameter should look to?
    Is it posible MB deflective.? Where that I can look close.
    Is it posible to repair it myself.?
    Or Just replace.
    Any help will be appreciated

    CB. It is possible that you have a MB problem, The next step would try and get it tested or repaired, or substitute if possible with another machine.

    Hi Al The Man
    For my Kiwa with 3M control.
    Problem is solve out today.
    I have swap DC line for X motor.
    ( I have make encoder cable copy from Y axis. So It is not exact the same. )
    This why I have to Swap DC line.
    So Machine can move with No problem.
    Next problem is.
    It can not do any tool change, No any Solinoid action after command .
    It might be Diagonos Problem?
    May be some missing? Where I can have this Diagonos ?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    There were different model versions of the 3M, some have external machine controller, using a PLC or relay logic, to diagnose the tool changer you will need to know what type you have and also the logic for the changer, the I/O diagnostic screen can be used to a degree, but it depends alot on the external logic as to how far you can go with the on-screen diagnostic.
    It is very important to have the machine tool builders schematics etc for tool changer trouble shooting.

    I have solution, Try this. Start machine and hold the Q+Cancle button. I think it will work.
    You have FANUC 3M manual. Could you give me. I am ready to pay for that.

    Hello all,

    My name is Alex, I am also experience the similar issue with my 1983 Kitamura Mycenter1 with Fanuc 3M D65-11. When I turn the machine on it will have two clicking sounds (sounds like its connected and disconnected), The machine then will show "Servo Alarm: 11 (X-Axis) 21 (Y-Axis) 31 (Z-Axis)". I tried switching just the servo amp. boards and the machine will not have the power connect / disconnect sound. The alarm displayed "Servo Alarm 01: Overload". Then I swapped the whole Servo Amp. Units (including all the heavy stuff under the boards that holds the breakers), the Alarm code now went back to "Servo Alarm: 11 (X-Axis) 21 (Y-Axis) 31 (Z-Axis)"..........Been one month of me trying to figure this out.....Please help! D: !!! Thank you for your time readying this post....
