so, im trying to build myself a tts atc spindle for my xzero router using some parts of a g0704 (weiss) machine.

things i have on hand:

R8 spindle shaft.
R8 spindle housing.
MT2 complete spindle/quill.

what im trying to get:

an R8 spindle with a belt drive, disc spring drawbar, and at least 10000rpm. im also trying to do this for low cost, and low amounts of precision machine work.

so for all of you who have done belt conversion, and bearing upgrades:

what size / brand bearings do you use in the nose and tail to get faster speeds, and what types of spacers and locknuts are required for the change. i *think* the tail end of the spindle is compatible with whats in my MT2 spindle. but for the nose, i have nothing. no spacers, seals, etc.

what type of pulley would you use? i need probably a 2:1 pulley ratio for the motors im looking at. it needs to be synchronous. is there anything off the shalf that has fit the spindle shaft splines?

merci.
