    Coolant selection

Anyone using Synkool for cutting Aluminum?

I purchased a gallon a while back based on somebodies recommendation, but now I just read that it can stain Aluminum.

Likely will stain only if you heat treat afterwords. Test it on some scrap.

I've only used SynKool for a short time. I thought I noticed some slight staining on a couple parts, but I went back and looked again and there really isn't anything noticeable. I'd say rinse parts after machining and it should be ok. The idea to let it soak on some scrap is a good idea--I think I'll try that too.
