I am looking for a machine to do some basic text engraving on firearms. Metals will range from aluminum to stainless. Text size is 1/16th tall and .003 depth. I have about 3k budgeted for a machine without tooling. I am looking more for a turn key machine than something I have to build myself, due to time & knowledge constraints. Any recommendations would be appreciated. If my budget is not realistic, please let me know. Also, a 4th axis would be nice for engraving curved surfaces, but not absolutely necessary.

I don't know much about them, but am considering this for other applications. A Laser Marking Machine. I know that this will be very expensive, but it is an idea.

If you do not need to engrave graphics, Electro-Chemical Marking is a low-cost alternative.

Hi i read your post and it sound like you are looking for a kwik marker engraver km-64. well i have one im looking to get rid of that will fit your budget if you are interested.
