    spindle hook-up and parts

I have a DIY CNC Router, Running Mach 3, with a TB6560 controller. I want to build a better setup, but first play around with a spindle to see if I like it. After research I found that all I must do is hook up some jumpers to the control board, and over to a PWM like this

that is the same as this?

And set it up in Mach 3.
Is this all I need to regulate a DC spindle? I feel like I am missing something.

It should let you control a DC motor as long as it's within specs, BUT it is a standalone speed controller (it has absolutely nothing to do with Mach3), it is meant to control the speed directly by using the potentiometer.
