    Help with steppers

Hi, Very new to CNC, I have three stepper motors that were given to me some time back and I'm hoping that someone can help me with specs for the motors.

The label states: Japan Servo Co Ltd, KP56LM2-097. DC6V. 1.8 deg/step.
They are Nema 23 size and have two shafts. They also have six wires, red, red-white, green, green-white, black and white. The black and white wires don't seem to have been used - they're taped to the other wires which go to a connector.

I would like to use these in a small CNC machine that I hope to build from plans that I found on the CNC Zone.

I tried to contact Japan Servo and a couple of their agents but have not received a reply.

Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me.

Googling "Japan Servo Co Ltd, KP56LM2-097" returned this:

    Gerry,
Thank you very much-looks so simple when you know how to find the information. I hope to use my machine to cut model airplane parts. I am collecting material for the build and was hoping that the motors could be used. I think it looks like they can. Any suggestions on what plan to use for a first machine?
When they spell out the wires, the black one is not used? And the white wire is used for the center tap on both phases?
Is there a primer on how to set all this up? Sorry to sound so stupid.

Wallyh... Did you ever get your foam cutter up and running?
I am currently working on a foam cutter now.
I have the same motors as you. Any ideas that you have would be greatly appreciated.
