    fanuc ac spindle motor overheated

    I`ve HARDINGE VMC 1000II, MODEL: 2003
Recently, the spindle motor goes so hot, wich I couldn`t tuch it.
،The Bearings, Belt & the fuley are working correctly, but spindle motor goes so hot in low rpm such as a 2500 RPM.
Does any body has experience about his problem ?

Is your oil cooler working properly? Are your oil levels all correct? Those are the first things you should check.

in fact , there is no oil cooler on this kind of machine.

also, my spindle isn`t hot, the spindle servo motor is over heated.

The air should be coming out from the motor, check that.
In the position screen, softkey MON (Monitor) you can see the load in the spindle motor, check it.

    dear Alex.
thanks for your attention, but . . . the air slots are clean , the spindle fan works fine & direction of wind is ok.
last of all the spindle load meter , shows normal load on the motor.
    and spindle motor goes hot . . . .

Ok. Then you must check the motor itself. Use a Megger to check each of the phases to ground. Then use a milliohmeter to check the coils of the motor. They should give you a very close reading. What is the part number of the motor?

    Alex
