What is the canvas DPI for lasercut? Seems as if I need to resize all of my engravings when I import them depending on the DPI of the image. I size everything up in corel exprt the image and then have to resize it when it is in lasercut and that always seems to be a guessing game. Any ideas?

PS - When you export the file from CorelDraw into Lasercut (if not using the print driver) make sure you export it as mm. Them when you import it will be the same size. You import your bmp for photos and set the scan gap to match your dpi in the engrave settings. For Example - if you import a photo that has been prepared at 300 dpi you should set your scan gap at .085 - you do not need to 'size' your image other than to the size you want it to engrave.

I usually design all my engraved art in illustrator. When exporting it does not give me an option to choose mm or inches. I did however use the trial and error method and have found out that the DPI of Lasercut is 254 dpi. If I export a DXF to cut out and then the graphic to etch on that that cut out object at 254 dpi, I will not have to resize the image at all. I set my scan gap to match the 254 DPI and have saved myself tons of time resizing engravings.
