You build nice tables Dave, I'll be following along as you go. Are you planning any changes or building this one the same as the last 2?

    Brad,
Thanks.I am only going to change a few things on this table. Im going to build the gantry out of alum. This table will only be used for plasma so i can build the gantry lighter. I also will build the z axis myself. I used k2cnc z on all my other tables and would like to incorporate a plate marker and breakaway mount on the z. I am also going to try and make the water table and storage tank one unit instead of a separate tank on the floor under the table.

I have a z axis drawn up that ive made and use daily on my table if you want the cad file you are more than welcome to have it. Im trying to source some linear rails that are small enough to fit inside the tubing vs being outside.

    Dave,
You could always go with an air bladder design, it seems to work pretty well on my table. Mine takes about 15 seconds to fill and 45 seconds to empty. One added bonus I've found with the bladder design is if the table doesnt get used daily and the top of the bladder has time to dry, you can use a shop vac to vacuum 90% of the stuff up that would normally end up in your tank/sump.

    Thefu,
    Nice Z design

    Dave,

Hello. I'm planning to start a build soon and your table is close to perfect! I'd love any dfx/iges files that you'll share.

Is the overall table size 5x10 or is the cutting area 5x10?

I noticed in another thread that you designed the table with 1/4 (max) plate in mind. I have a project were I'll be cutting full 5x10 3/8. Do you feel the table would handle that w/o issue?

    Thanks,

The 3/16 wall tube is for the 2 long rails because they get tapped for linear rail.all the legs and the ends are 1/8 wall

    Dave,
Good looking tables you're building there, also a really nice clean shop.
I notice you're thinking of incorperating a torch breakaway on this build, if so, keep me in mind, I may have just the answer.

The Snap 'n Cut mount has been on the market since late 2010, plenty of happy users, no one's complained of price.
Considering everything is CNC machined, zinc plated and anodized and, includes freight to anywhere on the planet, I figure it's very reasonable.

Thanks all the same mate, I'm happy where I am.
Maybe you should do a comparison on pricing on others in the market, you'd then realise mine are very reasonanble.....better include UPS Express freight into the equation as well.

and with a limit switch to detect when the torch crashes or gets knocked off...

I ordered the magnets, locating pins, torx screws, and set screws. I have the aluminum here in the shop, just need to make one then make a fixture to make a bunch at a time.

I have heard alot of good reviews on your breakaway mnt. I think your price is reasonable. I also have cnc machines but some parts dont make sense for me to make myself.I have bought z axis from k2cnc for all my machines because for what they charge its not worth my time. I try and spend my time on things that i cant buy or can make major improvements to. I would like to put your mnts on all my machines.
