    Hello Kelinginc,

I have a doubt regarding the power of the laser in this machine. Can a 40W laser cut plywood? And if yes, how thick it can be? Thank you in advance.

By the way, nice videos and nice machine!

    Regards,

    Pedro

I routinely cut 1/8" plywood and and have cut 1/4" plywood. There are times when it will not cut all the way through, but this is due to places in the wood that may be harder or have more adhesive used in the bonding process.

In the video, showing to use tap water might not be really good idea.

If you are speaking of using tap water for the cooling of the tube, it is not a good idea. I keep a supply of distilled water on hand and use it exclusively. I also change the water when I feel it has been in the reservoir long enough to become contaminated. At this time, I use ice packs (refreezable type) to keep the water at about 65 degrees F. (Maybe about 17 or 18 degrees C)? I have purchasd a radiator and am planning on running the cooling water through the radiator that will be attached to the output of the window air conditioner in my shed.
