    taig cnc mil

First time to post. I have a taig cnc mill from 1993. I'm trying to set up using Mach3. It was working when I first started trying to set up
with a little help of course. I got the info from taig to set mach3 to run the mill. Must have forgotten to save one of the settings, because now when the control box is powered up, (not connected to the computer) the motors have power to them. I don't know what happened, but something is screwed up. If anyone has had simular problems, please reply.

    Thanks,
    Chukbox

If it's from 1993, I don't think it will work with Mach3. Originally, Taig used a "wave drive" control box, which isn't the same as the "step and direction" system they (and Mach3) use now. There's a guy named Peter Homann Homann Designs who came up with a conversion kit; you might ask him if he still has any in stock. Failing that, you could either send your box to Taig for retrofitting to step/direction, or use a DOS-based system that supports the wave drive controller. Taig had one called MPS2000 they used before adopting Mach; they'd probably send you a copy if you asked nicely.
