    KIA VX-500 Y-axis home/reference off

    Hello,
    I have a KIA VX-500 with a Fanuc Oi-MB control.
My problem is that the Y axis will not reference. I get an overtravel alarm when I try to reference Y. It is a soft overtravel. The tang that trips the switch is just over an inch away from tripping the switch.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Heath

First thing I would try would be to back off all axes from zero, estop & power off control. Power up control while holding both the CANCEL and the letter O/P key until the power up is complete. Hit standby, zero return as normal. By holding the keys down during power up, it cancels the soft limits of the machine allowing you to rehome the axis without overtravelling. Do not, under any circumstances, use any other key combination during power up without first knowing what exactly the combination does. You could have disasterous results.

    did it work?

i would reccomend you to disable the Y axis software limit switch

1320 Coordinate value I of stored stroke check 1 in the positive direction on each axis
1321 Coordinate value I of stored stroke check 1 in the negative direction on each axis

as the reference position is going to + direction you should write in parameter
    1320 Y = 999999
    to disable the switch
drive the reference position and input the original value back again

oh i see ad64075 recommended the same just in another was sorry
