Been lurkin & learnin since I picked up a "basketcase" X2 last year. Didnt have a clue then and know just enough to be dangerous now. I figured I had better run this by the experts before I muck it up.
i wanted to redesign Hoss' z axis to work with the chinese ballnut I will be using. and here is what I came up with.
It uses the same timing pulley that Hoss used just bored to fit over the ballnut, my concern is that the setscrews for the pulley and lock collar will deform the ballnut housing?
I'm also not sure if my double ballnut design is proper, the lock collar would be set screwed to the first ballnut and the 2nd ballnut would float between the tangs with bellville washers inbetween How many degrees of rotation would be needed?
I also added AC bearings from vxb speading them further apart because the pulley is a longer distance from the bearings.
I greatly appreciate any advice and will be starting a build thread soon as I'm sure I'll be needing much more help as I go along.:drowning:
