    Brushless dc servo?

    I have the same question.
I have the motors and would sure like to find a controller so I could use my “brushless” DC motors.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Both Rutex www.rutex.com and gecko www.geckodrive.com have controller for brushless motor. The encoders will connect to the controller and drive the motors as instructed by the control software such as mach 3 (www.artofcnc.ca)

Gecko does NOT make a brushless drive.

    Brushless servos

    Inventthis,
I talked to Gecko and he said he did NOT have a controller for BRUSHLESS servo motors.
My main question is..Why are Brushless servos so "unusual'
I will check out the other site.
    Thanks,
    Doug

In the world of big machines, the motor trend has gone to the use of brushless servo motors thanks to digital electronics. They are basically a small 3 phase motor driven by a fancy VFD with feedback.
If it's not nailed down, it's mine.
If I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down.

    2muchstuff,
The servos I have are very expensive if bought new..like $1200.00 each.
I did not pay that for them. Are they good for anything?
    I don’t want to spend $200.00 per axis ( X4).
They came on some linier motion tables I found.
BTW the tables weigh 40 lbs each, they are SS and I believe to be dead on with NO detectable backlash they only have about 6” of travel, but I have 4 of them and I am going to put together a cnc mill.
What size steppers would work well for these tables? Stepper/controller combo?
    Thanks,
    Doug
P.S. I just today finished my 3 phase Rotory coverter.
20 hp idler motor, start with 1/2 hp poney motor...runs like a TOP.
Maybe I could use this 3 phase to run these servos..Just kidding.

I know where there are 3- AC brushless drives collecting dust. Can be gotten very cheap I would bet.

Now you can add 4 dc brushless servos to that list.
