    quill removal...

is there something special I need to do to remove the quill?

do I have to pull the motor and gearbox out to pull the quill?

    Thanx,
    richard

EDT: Solved... Tommy called (on a sunday no less) and told me the secret... There was a second set screw under the set screw on the left side of the head.

Looking from the front on the left their is TWO set screws that stop the quill from spinning and over travel.

The return spring is on the left and needs to be removed. This is dangerous if the spring is puled out of the cup. The spring is held to the shaft by a bolt in the shaft and the spring has a keyhole slot so it must be turned to release.

One that is done you remove the small bolt that held the spring and the quill feed shaft will slide out to the right and the quill will be free.

Set the lock so the quill does not drop out.
