Whats a good commercial(not freeware) program to convert files to DXF.

None I have tried are "good". At best you might say adequate. What kinds of files would you like to convert?

If you're talking about images, I'd say there isn'e one. If you want to convert line drawings, V-Carve Pro will do a pretty good job.

Personally, my preference would be to load the image into a CAD program and trace it. The results are far superior.

You can't load a jpg into solidworks,Gerry.

I was having a butchers at this package but it seems that only jpg to dwg is possible,probably would then have to convert the dwg to dxf

I'm having trouble doing that in SW2012,could be me? but it ain't going along with that vid.

Why could they not just have import pic or photo in the menu bar?
