What size ballscrew is normal for 10x20 lathe?

    Hi folks,

I have a 10x20 Denford Viceroy lathe, it's about 350kg, and I've just started drawing my plans to convert it to CNC.

It didn't come with a leadscrew, and I'm wondering what diameter of ballscrew I should be using for the Z.

I'm wondering what would be considered "normal" for a lathe this size - 16mm? 20mm? 30mm?

    Cheers,
    Rich

    I have used 20mm x 5mm lead on a 9x30.
