Need help with power and speed

I have one of the cheap lasers from China. Nowhere have I been able to find what the max speed or the max power is for the 40 watt unit. I have done some engraving at 45 cm/s. Is this going too fast? I have not gone above about 14ma to ensure that I do not over tax the tube or power supply. Can I do better than 14 ma without damaging anything and how much more?
I know that there may be additional information you may need in order to aid me. Please let me know what else you will need.

Sadly enough, I purchased one of the units with the Moshidraw software. It has the
MS10105 control card and the table size is now 325 x 250mm. The machine is working fine at this time, I just do not want to overwork it. Maybe a newer unit later on.
