    Mori Seiki NV5000 battery drain

I have a NV5000 that drains the 4 D cell batteries in the servo pack for automatic pulse coder memory about once a month. (should last a year).
I've checked all battery contact points, and wire connections for dirt, corrosion, and tightness and found no problems. Has anyone out there had this problem and/or can you tell me what else could be draining them?
I have three other machines just like it with no such trouble.

Most likely a pulsecoder on one of the axis. Hard to find, however I can give you one tip.

Make a AA battery holder (4) for each drive unit and unplug the battery connector from the Dcell box on the drive. Plug in the AA holder for each axis and see which one is draining first. You can also measure the current draw on each amp from the battery pack, the problem is you would need a VERY low range amp meter to track it down that way.
