    About the Opportunity

    The South East Alberta Metal (SEAM) Cluster is looking for experienced and qualified CNC and Manual Machinists for several of its partner companies in the City of Brooks and the surrounding County of Newell.

    Working alongside a talented team of machinists, in modern shops, you will responsible for producing high precision parts in quantities ranging from prototype "one-offs" to thousands in a production run.

    More specifically, you will:

    * Write/Edit CNC programs;
    * Plan, select and load tooling to machine parts;
    * Operate CNC equipment to machine parts to engineering drawings and specifications;
    * Troubleshoot problems with equipment and program;
    * Perform and document product inspections as detailed in the inspection plans;
    * Conduct and document daily equipment maintenance; and
    * Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

    To qualify, you will be a Journeyman Class CNC Machinist, with Mill and Lathe setup and operation experience. Applicants with previous experience with Haas & Okuma , FANUC controller ability and Gibbs Cam/Master Cam software will be given preference.

    This full time role requires individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude. Above all, South East Alberta Metal (SEAM) is seeking motivated, creative, team players who value skill, honesty and fairness in the workplace.

    Experience with oilfield production is an asset.

    Thanks for the tips guys.... Lathe is a G2949 and looks like the controls are 24v. Here's the machine so far. I got the mechanicals done, but am a bit chicken on the electrical. I'm sure I make it harder than it has to be. I have a kill sw, and really just need a new forward/reverse switch arrangement.
