    MulitCam MG 205 boot failure

When powering on our MultiCam MG 205 router it fails to go through the bootup sequence. The screen has only a blinking cursor. The motherboard shows a solid red light labeled dust collector and a blinkling led labeled "bad". The Router froze and was not responding; after powering it down it no longer boots.

    Multicam MG 205 boot failure

It is probably your 5 volt power supply, it is possible that it is simply out of range..which most of these machine like 5.09 going to the control board....

    1. Open up your control cabinet, look for a small metal box that is covered in ventilation holes...you should see 5 wires and to the right of those wires there is a potentiometer (look like a white screw)

    2. This step need a volt meter that can read 2 decimal places 5.09..not just 5.0 or 5.1. On your control board bottom left hand side on the second board, not the one that is easiest to get to...you will see a plug, you will see one blk wire and one wht wire going into this plug...usually these are the only wires going in to this plug.

    3. Take your leads from your meter, set the scale to read DC power...if you are under 5.0 volts...take a small phillips head screw driver and increase your voltage by turning the potentiometer screw to the right to 5.09.

Once you have done that...shut the machine down and reboot...it should come up...unless when you turn the screw...you could not adjust...in that case time to replace the power supply.

If power is good when you check, then you might have a board issue...

Check your 5 volt supply at the M24 board, your should read 5.09DC at the board. Good reading for power is 4.9 being on the low side, 5.09 on the high. If it is out of range you can adjust your power supply to increase or decrease accordingly. If the power supply will not adjust you will have to replace.
