    lubrication

    hello I don't know what type of lube to use with my ballscrews? lite oil, grease, way oil etc..?
    (please refrain from the obvious jokes available here)

    Do they have grease fittings? A general purpose lithium grease is fine if they have grease fittings or locations to install grease fittings. Way lube, of course, is fine but you need some way to provide a constant very slow feed when the machining is in use. This is why grease can be easier.

    Actually, ball-screw manufacturers generally recommend using oil, not grease. Grease tends to hold cr@p, which is bad. Oil will wash it out, more or less. Pretty much anything will do on these light-duty machines - engine oil, way oil, ATF, whatever you've got handy. A squirt of oil for every few hours of use is plenty for the intermittent use these machines typically see.
