    Fadal 3016L CNC88HS Y axis correction

    HI Buddy,

    I have one Fadal 3016 (1997) with cnc88hs controller and i have on y-axis 0.1mm problem. There is some option in menu where i can make this axis scorrection?
    The memory was resetted and i think this value was erased too and i need resetup. All other option i find and retyped in. just this axis correction i need to help!

    thanks:Tom

    Check the Survey for that axis controller card. Also check the Backlash.

    Not quite sure how that is listed but

    BACKLASH values in non metric are measured in .0001" of and inch. So to do the Z axis you would type in 1 for every .0001" of an inch of backlash.

    Lets say your Z axis has .0004" of backlash you type it

    BL,3,4

    Each axis is designated a number

    x=1
    y=2
    z=3
    a=4
    b=5

    BL= back lash

    BL,1= Backlash value for X
    BL,2= Backlash value for Y

    To enter backlash you must first accurately measure the lash then provide the controller with the correct number. For X and Y backlash it is measured in 3 places if you have 20" and over travel on the Y AXIS measured on each end and in the middle of the table. If its a 3016 or smaller you only enter one backlash number for X and Y axis. Z axis always has only one backlash number.

    3016 and smaller backlash of .0003" in Y axis
    BL,2,3 ENTER
    4020-8030 backlash of .0003" on front, .0005" in middle and .0003 on back of y axis
    BL,2,3,5,3 ENTER

    To enter any backlash number go to command mode (#6 on your page menu) and type in BL this will list your current backlash. You can type in backlash by using the BL,"whatever corresponding axis number", "your backlash in imperial measurement"
    We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.
