Has any used Raptor nails to hold down materials like in this video?

I saw this video and wanted to know if anybody has any experience with Raptor nails. Good or Bad. I did a search on the zone but did find anything.

It seams like a good idea, but wonder how practical it is.

that's pretty cool! I want them now. I tack a lot of stuff down with an 18ga pinner but have to be careful where those pins are. this seems to make it easy, especially for paint-grade stuff where you can nail right into a workpiece....

    These look cool.
The manufacturer claims you must use a specific nailer.
That will drive the cost up.
Has anyone priced out the nailer and the brads?
    Thanks

They look like they should work fine. The one thing I would check regularly is the spoil board around the nail hole lifting a little. After a while with many holes the lifting could change the "Z" height a little.

Their website says to call them for ordering info. Google found this place that carries them, but again, phone call required.

How can they be tool specific? If a SENCO nailer will work with Raptor's coiled nails, why then can it be said my SENCO pinner won't work with the Raptor 18 gauge pins?

18 gauge is 18 gauge is 18 gauge.

I knew Louis would be at the head of the line for these. Save me a place dude!

    price

those plastic nails are used for boat building too. they are expensive which is why you have to call or send a email on a price
    .
but if $0.01 each that is cheap if you only use 4 to 8 nails to hold something.
    .
but if you buy 1000 thats $10 and 1000 is not very big package.
    .
i suspect they bend more easily and you would get more penetration failures compared to steel nails but as long as you realize you are probably not going to get 100% penetration success especially if you use a generic nail gun it is probably worth trying.
    .
many boat builders like the raptor nails very much

Tom is onto something. This is from the Raptor site:

    Tool Operation

Hold tool firmly and steadily on the surface to be fastened and trigger fire. Do not allow nailer to bounce off of the surface or move laterally during fire. Using pneumatic tools with RAPTOR® composite fasteners requires more technique than with metal nails.
