This may be a stupid question but, I've grown accustomed to asking these types of questions since taking up CNC as a hobby.
I know what G 28 is used for in G-Code.
What I'm not sure of is wether on a Tormach, (or any other cnc mill) "G 28" will return me to what the Machine-Coordinates-Reference as the Home-Position or, what my program references as my Parts' Zero position.
Here's why I'm asking:
While I attempt to get up to speed on the CAM software I've recently purchased, I've been using some of the "Wizards" that came with my mill package.
They're working out pretty well but the G-Code they produce is lacking the G 28 command at the end of my program. I can put it in myself easy enough but, right now I'm not sure if I'd be telling my mill to move the spindle to the machine's idea of "Home" or to the lower left corner of my part where I set my reference point at.
Ideally I want my spindle to go up to the Z-axis Home position to facilitate tool changes.
A little help for the ignorant newbie in the front row please?
Thanks everyone.
