Re: Nema 34HST9805-37 and DM860A Driver

I haven't bought the motors yet but it looks like they are 2 amp 6.4 volt?

    the link on eBay is

    【Year-end Promotions】4axis nema34 stepper motor 878oz.in single shaft CNC Kit | eBay

but I don't really want these drivers (have heard they are not very good (poor resonance) so I am trying to buy just the stepper
    motors

Chris, I don't want to hijack this thread, because your setup is very different from the original posters (and it's his thread) but I don't find an email from you. What address did you send it to?

Since I can't reply by email:
Those motors are pretty small. A THB6064AH can drive 4 amps at 50 volts or 200watts. With those motors, this driver (and even more so the Gecko) is like using a nuclear reactor to fry eggs.

Not sure if you noticed, but the motors are 15mH so they are going to be slow. High torque, low speed. I would really recommend buying better motors. Even if you have to buy a cheap driver to compensate, it will cost you less and then you can upgrade the driver later. Driver upgrades are easy, motor upgrades are harder. For other sources of low cost motors, see:
