You sure it has one? I've only seen table probes, and not that often on those.
I would like to see a photo of this laser tool setter, if you don't mind.
Yes Im sure it has it. The guy who used to run the machine used it all the time. And he no longer works at my plant. Its a red dot laser beam going across the table and the tool comes down and breaks the plane and measures the offset.
I looked briefly on the Mori web site and did not find a reference to a laser tool setter. This must be a 3rd party add on. If it is, there is probably a macro program to make it work. Check your programs, including the 9000's and see if you find something there.
I will take a picture of it with my phone tomorrow and post a picture of it
Coolest. While you are at it, check for a macro program for tool setting.
Ok, that's a renishaw aftermarket one. Renishaw should have put macros in for not only measuring, but tool breakage detection. Check with them, they generally use a STD macro.
Thank you fellas for your help. This is what I found out. We have a Renishaw NC4
I have some questions to how to get it to work for anyone who can answer.
these are the macros currently installed in the controller
O9020 (M100 Tool length set)
O9021 (M101 Tool breakage check)
O9760 (Ren Setting)
O9761 (Ren Start Program)
O9762 (Ren Measure Move)
O9763 (Ren G31 Move)
O9764 (Ren G0 G1 Move)
O9766 (Z Search)
O9769 (Ren Error Message)
O9862 (Ren Tool Setting)
O9863 (Ren Broken Tool Plunge)
Here is what the O9020 and O9021 look like the others were way to long with alot of code that had alot of what looked like post code or code that was like if this and if not that with alot of variables and values.
O9020 (M100 tool length Set)
G65 P9862 B1. T #148;
M99;
* Now I know G65 is Macro sub routine call up but what does the B1. mean and also what does T #148 mean. I dont have that many tools in in my tool holder.
O9020 (M101 Tool breakage check)
G0;
G28 G91 Z0.0;
G65 P9863 H-.02;
G28 G91; Z0.0;
M99;
So basically what Im asking is if someone has good knowledge of how this thing works please explain it to me. And lets pretend Im a little handicapped when explaining. Thanks again fellas.
Brandon
G65 P9862 B1. T #148
This means that the tool number that will be measured is stored in parameter number 148 (#148 is parameter). Write some number of the tool let say T20 in parameter 148 and start that program.
I have found some manual and i can send it to you but i measure my tools with touch probe not laser
have the same machine like yours, but im so un lucky lossing all Sram data cause of dead backup battery. can you send me the copy of your backup sram?
